Hi folks, I apologize, I'm not very good at this updating thing. Life just seems to take me away and a week goes by, you know the rest.
So I just discovered that this thing has a spell check! I will be using it from now on. Sorry about the atrocious errors in the previous posts.
The bad news is, no one wants to spend money on my alternative fuel Microbus. Damn. Oh well, honestly it was a faint hope at best. I really do think it would be cool. I was reading in the NY Times that Honda is putting out an LP Gas version of the Civic. This one comes with a new and cool idea: Along with the car you get something called a Phill Station that attaches to your home gas lines (If you have a gas stove or dryer) and you can refuel overnight. Apparently this cuts your cost of fueling by 50 to 75% over gasoline. And your car is nearly a zero emission vehicle too! I'll be adding some links (I hope) at the end of this post to give you some more stuff to look at.
One of the things I've been doing to take up all of my time instead of posting is living on music blogs. Man I love music blogs, and there's so many of them. I'm an old weirdo and like things like Punk and Krautrock. It's so cool to find this stuff floating around out there. Luckily I live in a building with other musical weirdos. So I may be posting some unusual out of print stuff here. No promises. If I can talk my friend Shannon into delving into his extensive collection and providing details we may yet turn this into something more. I'll be adding some links to some of the music blogs so that you can check them out.
I could swear I read the LP gas Honda in NY Times but I couldn't find it so here's some links to other articles on it:

and on Honda's site:

I'll be adding a link to treehugger and some music blogs on the right. So if you still need to waste some time check those out.

So I've been sitting around, breathless with anticipation. Waiting for my corporate white knight to come save me from the evil forces of fossil fuel. It's occured to me that this is incredibly boring. So, while I wait (and incidently add my email so that they can contact me) here's a new pic for your enjoyment.

Shilling for Dollars.

I can hear it now, the saddened and depressed sighs as you think "evilDoug, you've just started this blog, and already, you're selling out." Yes, yes I am. Maybe it's not so bad though. I like to think of this as an all around positive thing. I'm really doing this for you and your children, (cue violins) because I care! Why don't we get to the heart of the matter, what exactly I'm talking about and then you can decide.
I want to convert my car "The Love Bucket" to an alternative fuel vehicle. I don't know what kind of an alternative fuel, it mostly depends on who takes an interest in my plight. You'll find some pictures of my little baby right here. It's a lovely and delightfully aged 1970 VW Transporter Type 2. Yes, a Microbus or hippie wagon. So I'm hoping some wonderful corporate citizen who needs a test vehicle or advertising rig for their new alternative to good old middle eastern fossil fuels will take interst in this project. What I'm proposing is this: You pay to convert my vehicle to your alternative, paint it up with your logo and assorted etc's and I shill for your wonderful ecologically and hopefully economically sound alternative and you use my pretty little Love Bucket in whatever ways are deemed necessary in order to promote your fuel in the best light possible. I do have a full time job, so if you need to drive around the country in it we'll have to come to some sort of understanding. So here are the pics and I hope you take my plight to heart and give a hand up to someone who really believes in doing right by mom earth, but just can't afford to do it myself.

I am an idiot

Welcome to my first post, I've only got the faintest hint of an idea what will end up on this page. probably some photos, some reviews, some rants and maybe some music and videos. I hope you like what you see. for today I'm planning on leaving you with a photo and then working my way towards making this entertaining. I know I haven't given you lots of reason to check this out but hang in there, we'll just have to see what happens.
